This week marks the celebration of Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori, a time to honour the beauty and significance of Te Reo Māori, the indigenous language of Aotearoa New Zealand. As a vital part of Wai Ariki’s cultural heritage, it’s essential to protect and nurture Te Reo so it can flourish for generations.
At Wai Ariki, we take immense pride in our Ngāti Whakaue heritage. Te Reo Māori is an integral part of our daily lives, woven not only into our conversations but also into the heart of our offerings, such as Wai Whakaora and Ahuru Mōwai. These services reflect the depth of our cultural connection and commitment to embracing the language of our ancestors.
We’re making an extra effort this week to continue learning, using and embracing our Māori language with open arms and challenge you to join us. Kia māhorahora te reo – let’s make it seen, let’s make it heard.
Ake ake ake – A forever language.
